First ECHO Young Online Meeting

First ECHO Young Online Meeting – A Promising Start!

On May 19, ECHO Young held its first-ever online gathering, bringing together around 20 enthusiastic young organists from across Europe — with a few tuning in all the way from South Africa and the United States.

The session featured a special contribution from Artistic Director Yoann Tardivel, who gave an inspiring talk on organ registration. His insights sparked a lively discussion around balancing tradition with creativity — a theme that clearly resonated with the group.

Beyond the musical exchange, participants also explored ideas for strengthening the ECHO Young community. Suggestions included creating a shared space for organ-related content, podcasts, and composer spotlights, as well as debating the best platform for communication — Discord, Slack, or something else entirely? A shared resource database also came up as a potential project.

Plenty of exciting questions remain:
What kind of projects should ECHO Young support?
Should we hold regular discussion circles or themed online events?

One thing is certain — the energy, passion, and creativity shared during this first meeting point toward a bright and vibrant future for the ECHO Young network.

A big thank you to Yoann Tardivel for joining us and inspiring everyone — your presence was deeply appreciated!
