Workshop Isabelle Demers

Music by female composers is a focal point of this year’s festival, and we are pleased to offer two workshops led by leading concert organists and professors, both held at the late-Romantic, three-manual Lundén organ in the Vasa Church. Over the past few years, thanks to projects such as the Boulanger Initiative, works by women composers have appeared with greater regularity on concert programs. The workshop led by Isabelle Demers will examine works by 19th- and 20th-century composers such as Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn, Nadia Boulanger, Elsa Barraine, and Rachel Laurin.
