St. Anna University Collegiata Krakow
Organ details
History
In 1727, Szymon Sadkowski completed a beautiful organ for St Anne’s Church in Kraków. The organ case, designed in the Baroque style, was crafted by Anton Frackiewicza. Between 1804 and 1816, the organ was modified and enlarged by Blazej Glowacki. In 1900 and 1908, Tomasz Fall and Alexander Febrowski altered the instrument again, mainly by replacing old stops with new Romantic ones. After the Second World War, it was decided to restore the instrument to its 1816 condition. The restoration work was carried out between 1958 and 1963 by Robert Polcyn, organ builder in Poznań. Fourteen original stops from 1727 have survived. (orgbase.nl)
