As part of this European initiative, we would love to share with you the powerful words of the brilliant cellist Pablo Casals,Olivier De Schutter, UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights, and Albert Einstein.

I have witnessed extraordinary changes and advances in the course of my life. What amazing progress in science, industry and space exploration! And despite everything, hunger, racial oppression and tyranny still plague the world...when will we get used to the fact that we are human beings
The most powerful nations have a duty and responsibility to keep the peace. It is my deep conviction that the great masses in these countries want the understanding and mutual cooperation of their fellow men.

Personally, I would like to advocate for the notion of the "international rule of law": just as democratic lawyers demand respect for the rule of law (separation of powers, respect for fundamental freedoms, etc.) at the domestic level, I would like us to popularize the notion of the "international rule of law" so that we truly base international relations on respect for the law, which has been a key element in the progress of our civilization since the Briand-Kellogg Pact of August 23, 1928 - the first universal affirmation of the prohibition of the use of force to settle international disputes.

So here is my message, and my appeal for April 26: we are jointly launching an appeal, so that on August 23, 2028, on the occasion of the centenary of the Briand-Kellogg Pact, governments reaffirm their commitment not to resort to force to settle the disputes between them, and instead base their relations on respect for international law.
