Every two years, young organists from around the world have the unique opportunity to showcase their skills at the International Gottfried Silbermann Organ Competition, playing on the exceptional baroque organs of Gottfried Silbermann. It’s a chance to experience the authentic sound world of these historic instruments. Meeting renowned artists and an enthusiastic audience opens doors, making this competition a truly formative experience. The competition is dedicated to the famous organ builder Gottfried Silbermann, who 300 years ago created a unique organ landscape from Freiberg, much of which is still preserved today.
