Organ details

History

The organ, which is located in the choir loft above the main entrance door and is enclosed in a lacquered case in a new-classical style, was built by Giacomo Bazzani & Sons in 1843. The following inscription on paper is placet above the keyboard ledge: OPUS JACOBI ET FILIORUM BAZZANI - VENETIIS ANNO 1843.
The instrument originates from an oratory of the Villa Teotochi - Albrizzi; in fact on the Chancel’s balustrade we read the inscription “ORGANA PRECIPUE IMPENSIS ET PIETATE ALEXANDRI ALBRIZI CONFECTA MDCCCXLIII”.
The Bazzani, successors of the Callido, continued the tradition that made Venetian organ art great in the eigheteenth century.
