CALLIDO
Chiesa di Sant'Ambrogio in Fiera Treviso
Organ details
History
The organ was built by Gaetano Callido in 1779 and is located in the choir loft above the main door of the church, enclosed in a sober neo-classical case, painted to look like plasterwork.
Notwithstanding the ravages of time and some actions and tampering, the instrument has basically kept its original structure. Recent restoration by Alfredo Piccinelli of Padua eliminated previous both mechanics and sound alterations and returned the organ to its original condition.
