Contius Bach Academy

The Contius Bach Academy 2025 focuses on J.S. Bach and North-German composers and is divided into two sessions:

  • Session 1: July 3–8, 2025
    Teachers: Kimberly Marshall, Benjamin Steens, Léon Berben
    Repertoire includes: Sweelinck, Scheidemann, Buxtehude, Böhm, Bruhns,  Lübeck, and Bach (organ & clavichord)
    Final concert: Monday, July 7 at 8:30 PM – St. John the Baptist Church
  • Session 2: July 8–12, 2025
     Teachers: Maude Gratton, Jeremy Joseph, Wim Winters, Bernard Foccroulle
     Repertoire includes: Bruhns, Buxtehude, Tunder, and Bach (organ & clavichord)
     Final concert: Friday, July 11 at 8:30 PM – St. Michiel Peace Church

    Participation fee:

    * €300 for one session
    * €400 for both sessions
      (includes free access to all festival concerts)

    Registration deadline: June 19.
    Participants will have free access to all concerts and the symposium organized during the Contius Bach Festival.

    Accommodation with host families is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to international participants. Other accommodation (hotels, youth hostels, etc.) is at the participant’s own expense. Meals and travel costs are also the responsibility of the participant.

    The academy is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the ECHO organ competition taking place in July 2026 in Leuven, using the Contius and other historical organs.
