Last week, the Young Ambassadors and Artistic Directors gathered for their annual meeting in Leuven, Belgium.
As always, the days were filled with numerous meetings — the YAs came together for their first meeting on Thursday, discussing the topics of the upcoming days.
Friday morning, the YAs spent at the House of Polyfonie. Following a brief introduction, our YA Marie Petit gave us a detailed explanation of each instrument on display there. After that, there was enough time for all the YAs present to try out the various instruments for themselves.
Subsequently, we enjoyed a lunch concert performed by our ADs, featuring works exclusively from ECHOM publications.

In the afternoon, the first joint meeting began. The second half was dedicated to the future of the YAs. In different groups, we tried to define the “mission” of the YAs – a task that allowed us to highlight different points of view and gave us the opportunity to engage in lively discussion with each other. Following the very intensive but constructive meeting, we were invited to a wonderful dinner, which also gave us the opportunity to continue our discussions and get to know each other better.
On the last day, the remaining time was used to form various working groups with the aim of offering the YAs the opportunity to work even more intensively with the ADs and to further invigorate and advance the structure of ECHO. We are very pleased about this and delighted to have the opportunity to work more closely with our ADs in the future!
