History
The organ of the Church of Casale sul Sile is attributed to the excellent organ builder of the Venetian school Francesco Merlini, a contemporary of Gaetano Callido and presents all the characteristics of the noble eighteenth-century classical Venetian organ: "Merlini - writes the restorer in his report - respects everywhere the tradition, here conceives an instrument with a musical peculiarity worthy of great interest because it involves the use of two "traversiero" flutes in unison in eight feet in the sopranos, which can be used together or separately, but with a device that makes the invention unique . Diversify the two rows by giving one the flute parameters and the other those of the principal. The first task of the instrument - concludes the restorer - will certainly be to serve the cult with dignity, but also suitable for concert and educational use as the instrument, very intact despite the vicissitudes that have characterized its history, represents a jewel that 'is an important part of the eighteenth-century musical panorama and will become a point of reference for the study of the musical literature for which it was conceived.
