Gabriel Avila

Originally from Toluca, Mexico, Gabriel Abraham Avila Martínez began his studies at the Higher School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In 2017, he moved to Rome, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Organ and a Master’s degree in Early Music at the Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra in the class of Prof. Federico Del Sordo.
In 2024, he was awarded a scholarship from the Fondation Académie d'Orgue de Fribourg to continue his advanced studies at the Haute école de musique Fribourg under the guidance of Prof. Maurizio Croci.
He participated in the Academy of La Petite Bande in Italy and attended masterclasses with Enrico Baiano and Francesco Cera. His concert activity has led him to perform in Mexico and several European countries. He has notably collaborated with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Toluca and taken part in the Festival de Música Antigua de Baeza, as well as other artistic projects.
In 2025, he performed live on RTS Espace 2 as part of the program “Des Masters sur les ondes.” From 2021 to 2024, he was a member of the Cappella Giulia at Basilique Saint-Pierre.
As a Young Ambassador, he is committed to promoting intercultural dialogue and the richness of the historical organ heritage to new generations.
