Kristina Avakian Mikkelsen

Kristina Avakian Mikkelsen (b.1996), Roskilde, Denmark. She began her musical career playing the piano at the age of 6 and sang in the Roskilde Cathedral Girls Choir from 2004. She started her organ education in 2016 with Jens Ramsing. She continued her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with former guest Professor Hans Fagius (soloistic), Monica Melcova (soloistic) and Søren Christian Vestergaard (liturgical). She finished her Masters degree in 2024 and is currently studying The Advanced Postgraduate (Soloist) Programme with Professor Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen and Professor Kristian Krogsøe. She has participated in masterclasses with Olivier Latry, Eric Lebrún, Wolfgang Zerer, Henry Fairs, among others. In 2022 she was awarded a grant from the Magrethe Axelsens Fund, which she used for a masterclass with Nathan Laube in Toulouse in connection with the Toulouse Organ Festival. Kristina is currently employed as an organist at St. Jørgensbjerg Church, Roskilde. Alongside her studies at the Conservatory, she studies at the Childrens Choir Academy in Copenhagen.
