DALDOSSO

Temple du Salin Toulouse

Organ details

History

The organ of the Temple du Salin is a new instrument, built in 2004 by Jean Daldosso, with the re-use of Jean-Baptiste Puget's 1920 case. Unlike a traditional instrument, the organ has 3 sets of pipes that can be coupled at will on any of the two manuals and on the Pedal.
This special design allows a relatively modest instrument (24 actual stops) to sound like an instrument with around forty stops, offering the organist a rich and varied palette of sounds.
It is the only instrument in the city centre to have an electronic Setzer, offering 12,000 adjustable combinations, making it easy to use and introducing students to the use of this device, which is becoming increasingly widespread these days.
The instrument was inaugurated by Frédéric Blanc and Jean-Claude Guidarini on 24 and 25 September 2005.
